A woman photographs a whale as it surfaces near a whale watching boat off the coast of Byron Bay, northern NSW, September 2012.

  • Another stunning morning out on the ocean with whales all around the boat. They kept their distance for a little while but eventually came in close and brought about a dozen of their little friends with them. Talk about happy whale & DOLPHIN watchers? Smiles all around.
  • A very happy Mark today looking after our two brandnew 250 hp Optimax on their first outing. That’s an extra 25 hp each side… all because Roundy likes to have the wind blow through his hair…

  • Lovin’ from the oven… for our divers on Sunday.

  • That’s right – no WHALE watching today. It was WHALES watching … whales watching us. It was an incredible morning with whales constantly moving around and under the boat curious to get a better look at us.
  • Here’s your Wednesday whale fact: over 50% of the world’s cetaceans are found in Australian waters. How awesome is that!
  • Thanks everyone at Dive Dive Dive for coming out with us today. You were a great team! Low vis and cold water have never been so much fun… We hope you enjoyed yourselves and we look forward to seeing some of you next week!

  • Great whale watching trip this morning with a Southern Right Whale and its calf just off the Brunswick bar. What an amazing sight! Hopefully we’ll have some photos coming up for you soon…
  • With the early migration south now beginning, Humpacks do not seem to be in any rush to get back home … even taking some time for a spot of sunbaking. Blue Bay Whale watchers were once again treated to a great Sunday afternoon spectacle.
  • Watching whales breach gets right to the core of every whale watcher. Capture one great breach and you’d love to play it over and over again in your mind to relive the moment. Here’s a breach sequence caught at 6 frames per second to help you remember this exciting behaviour ….
