- Please help us with this fantastic fundraising opportunity for our local animal welfare group CAWI (Companion Animal Welfare Inc.) who are raising money to finally build a local dog shelter for abused and abandoned dogs and other animals in the Byron Shire . If you click on the link below and log in to Community Engine (https://communityengine.com.au/organisations/4fced7ab4a42310fd80a433a) and “follow” Blue Bay Divers and Blue Bay Whale Watching (!), Community Engine will donate $1 to CAWI for every new follower up to $5000! It only takes a few moments of your time, but every dollar gets us closer to the urgently needed dog shelter…

- Another awesome weekend out with the whales…. Whilst one whale tries to ‘high-five’ the guests on the boat with it’s pectoral fin on Saturday, on Sunday a humpback with ‘attitude’ came beneath the boat and gave us ‘altitude’ as it used it’s back to give the rear of the boat a hump off the water. WOW … crazy
- Check out the whale sharks! Great video, Lynda!
Part 2 – Whalesharks
Up close and personal with the whale sharks of Cenderawasih Bay.
- It’s Christmas in July at Blue Bay Divers tomorrow! We’ve baked some very special Reindeer cookies and look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
- We will be finalizing the booking for our upcoming PNG trip this week. If you’d like to join us in October, let us know as soon as possible so we can secure a spot for you. At this stage, there are still 3 spots left, but we will have to let them go probably by Wednesday. Don’t miss out, this will be a good one!
- Great day at Julian Rocks today: plenty of sharks, 2 whales, great people and French for beginners. Thanks everyone and happy Bastille Day!
- Another spectacular whale watch on Sunday. 4 pods converged together with 15 whales all around the boat with what appeared to be some very aggressive pushing and shoving by the younger males. We even found a ‘Pod’ of gold at the end of the rainbow.
- ‘Happy Feet’
‘Happy Feet’ the Whale – Sunday 1st July, 2012
We may have just met the ‘Happy Feet’ of the whale family. Here are some of the whales we met on Sunday afternoon … and one whale put on a spectacular show for more than 40 minutes – constantly breaching for the delight of our whale watchers only metres away from us.
